Core Values :
We’re a social group of gamers working together in this community to build friendship across borders all around the world.
In the GUF community, we have 3 essential cores defining the values of our community and they make the foundation of how we believe our community will thrive.
Treat everyone equally and with respect
The first essential core is mutual respect towards everyone in our community. No discrimination, judgment or favoritism. Respect others’ nationality, race, language, culture, preferences, religions, sexuality, play style, skill level and so on.
Collective fun
The second essential core of the GUF community is fun! Whether it’s our staff roles, events, activities, or social. Our community’s main achievement is to be a fun place for every member.
Team work
Working together to achieve greatness as a community is the third essential core of what GUF stands for. Everyone contributes to their best ability to improve GUF as a community and build friendship across borders.
Community Members
Everyone in GUF is a community member. All staff members and non-staff members are considered Community Members.

Staff structure
These are the current available Staff Roles in GUF. They may change from time to time.
Public Relations Officers:
PR Officers are a non-management role and therefore not involved in any internal leadership operations. Their main focus is representing the GUF Community to the public, which includes helping new or current members navigate through our community server or getting familiar with our culture, regulations, and rules.
The PR Officers may also assist with promoting the community publicly on social media and the internet through various forums and channels to ensure our community remains accessible to all gamers worldwide.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist and guide new and current members in our community when needed.
- Promote a positive impression of the GUF community and our community values to the public.
- Handle community marketing and recruiting in collaboration with the council staff.
Game Sherpas:
The Sherpa staff roles a non-management role and therefore not involved in any internal leadership operations. Game Sherpa are for individuals who are experts on in-game content in their designated game.
They are teaching other members on request PvE games or other challenging objectives in their designated game.
Their responsibilities are during certain gameplay events, activities, and they provide expertise to other players. Outside their designated game, they do not possess any authority or responsibility for the management operations or disciplinary actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach objectives or other challenges in the game.
- Help a group with your expertise during an event or activity.
- Help the Section leader or the Game Officer upon request.
Game Officers:
Game Officers are game specific officers. Their roles and responsibilities are mainly determined by their section leaders, and they answer to them. Game officers usually manage activities and aid their Section Leader by doing light moderating in-game and on discord. They report directly to their Section leader, however if it’s urgent and Section Leader is unavailable, Game Officers can contact the rest of the Staff team, the community leader, or the council for support.
Game officers are also expected to help approve new members who wish to join our server and qualify to join, regardless of which section the new members wish to join.
Game officers are only approved after the staff team and council have gone through the application, and the person applying to be Game officer have agreed to the responsibilities and terms determined by the Section Leader and community council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designated responsibilities assigned by the Section Leader.
- Report to your Section leader and work closely with them.
- Approve new members who qualify to join the GUF community.
Sections Leaders:
Section leaders are considered the backbone of the community. They have long experience as staff with a very strong sense of leadership and are dedicated to GUF. Section leaders are promoted from lower staff roles after proving a deep connection of our community, core values and rules.Section Leaders in their own dedicated game section oversee all operations, moderate and assign responsibilities to Game Officers.
Section Leaders are solely responsible for handling any escalated conflicts, unpleasant events, or issues that may occur between the members within their section.
They can report directly to the Community leader if they want assistance, however if it’s urgent and the Community Leader is unavailable, the Section Leader can contact the council if they wish for assistance.
Reporting or seeking assistance from higher-ranking staff is entirely optional as the Section Leader has the power to make a decision during conflicts and take appropriate actionsThey hold full rights of decision-making in disputes happening in their section. Their judgments and conclusions should align with the community’s core values.
If the Section Leader is unavailable without notice or a pre-approved leave request for more than 7 days, the Section leader role will automatically be overtaken by the community leader or community Council without notice.
If any reports, disputes, or tickets related to a section are not followed up on within 7 days, the higher leadership can overtake.
Key responsibilities:
- Moderating their dedicated game category within the Discord server and in-game.
- Structure their dedicated category in Discord. Adding, removing, renaming channels as needed.
- Nominating members as Game Officers.
- Assign responsibility to dedicated Game Officers within their section and follow up on their reports. Demote or dismiss Game Officers within their dedicated section.
- Issue bans in accordance with Community Rules and Core values. If the ban reason does not clearly align with any violations, an approval from the community leader and the Community Council is required.
Council Member:
Council members are veterans in the GUF community. They are experienced staff members who have actively served the community over time and shown high dedication in past positions. Council members mentor the other Staff Roles and inspire them to grow as leaders and prepare them to become Council members or community leaders one day.
If a section leader leaves their position, and no Game Officer or other staff are suitable for the task, Council Members can appoint themselves as a temporary Section Leader until a suitable new Section Leader is found.
Council Members are nominated by others in the Community Council. The Community Leader, founder, or co-founder can organize a vote so community members can anonymously vote to nominate council members.
If a section leader wants to be a council member, they first need a suitable replacement to take over their role as Section Leader.
Key responsibilities:
- Ban members, also when it’s no clear violation of the rules, however, they should take GUF Community core values into consideration.
- Reviewing or approving ban appeal requests after approval from the dedicated Section Leader where the ban originally took place.
- Approving applicants as staff members.
- Proposing changes that align with GUF Core Values and could improve the community overall.
- Support Section Leaders with their experience or mentorship when requested.
- Nominating new council members for the Community Council.
- Have one vote in any council decision votes.
- A council member can start a no-confidence vote for the removal of the community leader under special circumstances.
- Council members have full admin permissions on the GUF Discord server.
Key limitations:
- The authority of the council is limited to the key responsibilities written above.
- Not permitted to interfere with decisions made within dedicated game sections unless requested by the dedicated Section leader of that section, or they can interfere in circumstances where the leadership of a specific section violates the community core values.
Community Leader:
The community leader is considered the highest-ranking staff in GUF.
GUF Community Leader is responsible for overseeing the entire community and working closely with their dedicated section leaders to ensure that GUF community thrives in a positive, progressive direction in accordance with Community Core Values.
The Community Leader also has the authority to expand or change Staff Roles, community structures, and ranks to ensure the community is relevant and thriving. This does not give the authority to make any changes to the Community Council.
The Community Leader has 2 votes in council decision votes.
The Community Leader is elected by vote among nominated Community Council members when the active Community Leader steps down or is removed.
All Community Members have the right to anonymously vote. If only one Candidate is nominated, this person will automatically win the election.
Founder, Co-Founder or Section Leaders is responsible for organizing the vote so all Community Members are able to anonymously elect their new Community Leader.
Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing the entire community in accordance with GUF Core Values
- Work closely with dedicated Section Leaders and Community Council.
- Make improvements to community structures when needed.
- Accept applications to Staff Roles.
- Vote in the community Council with 2 votes.
Key limitations:
- Can not make changes to the Community Council.
- Must be nominated and then elected by the Community Council and community members.
- Community Leaders are elected for a period of one year. This can be extended by one more year at the time by the Community Council, indefinitely.
